Our Evanston IL excellent eye doctor will be able to provide you with any type of vision service you may need. If you have not had a comprehensive eye exam over the past year, we hope you will contact us for an eye exam to make sure your eyes are healthy. During our eye exams your eyes will be thoroughly screened for many different eye diseases and disorders including: glaucoma; macular degeneration; cataracts; diabetic retinopathy; retinal tears; dry eyes; and other problems of the cornea, macula, and retina. We offer complete vision testing for both adults and children. During our eye exams your eyes will also be screened for their visual acuity. If it is found that you have a refractive error of astigmatism, nearsightedness, or farsightedness, this can be easily corrected with prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses. If you are having a contact lens exam at our vision practice, our optometrist will also take measurements of the curvature of your cornea as well as of the size of your iris. This is to make sure that your new contact lenses will fit your eyes precisely so that your cornea will not be irritated or damaged. We also offer low vision treatment for our patients who have severely restricted vision which cannot be corrected by prescription lenses or surgery. We also help patients with glaucoma and cataracts by managing their conditions. Many times patients with cataracts can have interim prescriptions written which will give them clear vision until the cataracts worsen, at which point you will be referred to an ophthalmologist for laser surgery.
